Day Two of Eat Clean Spring Break went really well. I cooked all three of my meals at home and wasn't super hungry.
Breakfast was water with lemon, a banana, and oatmeal with dried cranberries. Not much to say about that besides delish! And "nutrish!" Oh god, I hate myself for writing that. Please pardon me while I take a break to bang my head against a wall.
....
Okay, we're back.
For lunch I had leftover taco salad, minus the meat, plus a Strawberry Banana smoothie that Mike made for me. I felt fueled and ready to yoga it up in the afternoon.
It was a beautiful day in Washington and walking from the bus stop to yoga filled me with a lot of joy. There were tons of people soaking up the sun and fresh air at Dupont Circle, and I so wanted to just park myself on a bench and read. But I was a woman with a mission: to yoga I went!
I decided to try out one of Yoga Districts "Alignment" classes for the second time. I had gone in December, during finals week, and while I found the class challenging and fun, I couldn't really give it my all at the time because I was run ragged and operating on low levels of sleep and sanity. This time I was more prepared mentally and physically. I tried my best and sweat A LOT (seriously, it may as well have been a heated yoga class, we were all sweating so much) and am SO sore today. While I still haven't gotten close to a decent Bakasana/Crow Pose, if I can keep fitting Alignment Yoga into my schedule on Saturdays I think I'll be closer to getting there.
I left yoga quite smelly but energetic, and came home to cook dinner with Mike. We cooked up some salmon with lemon, thyme, and olive oil, roasted green beans, which we tried for the first time and loved, and a little angel hair pasta with a light lemon olive oil sauce (a few TBS of olive oil, a couple squeezes of fresh lemon juice, and a tinge of garlic) to give the meal a little more substance. It was a seriously delicious meal; I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! The picture doesn't do it justice:

Snacks were plentiful throughout the day and included almonds, grapes, and an apple.
Overall, I'm definitely feeling leaner and cleaner. Two days down, eight to go!
